That the high elevations of western Argentina—a pristine but desolate terrain, naturally irrigated and cooled by the nearby Andes—gained fame for the deep, flavourful Malbec wines born there.

We salute the small family winegrowers of Mendoza, Argentina, proud citizens of the Land of Malbec.

We dedicate this unique collection of Malbecs to its spiritual home, the Land of Malbec.

One finds many famous names in the world of wine. Some belong to wealthy families praised for the quality of their vineyards and wines. Others are trademarks of powerful wine and spirits companies.

In the United States market, the top ten corporate marketers now control over 70% of total wine sales. This trend of global consolidation is squeezing the life out of small family winegrowers, the soul of authentic, terroir-based wine.

Land of Malbec belongs to Fecovita, the largest wine cooperative in the world. Our corporate mission for more than forty years has focused on fair trade winegrowing and ethical practices. We empower thousands of independent grower-producers in Argentina to work their own land and make needed upgrades in the vineyard from generation to generation.

Fecovita’s 29 wineries and 54 regional cooperatives oversee the democratic governance of the entire business. This fair-trade model is practical as well as ethical. It prioritises investments in quality and sustainability, while also preserving all the artisanal traditions of family winegrowing.

Our growers bring their grapes to the winery with pride: citizens and co-owners of the Land of Malbec.
